Boat, Captain and friends (Entry fee includes: T-shirt and 1 poker hand.) Whether in a slip or not you WILL have a place to park your boat via tie up on the point or raft up to another boat.
The Lake Nacimiento Boating Poker Run is a boat rally that travels to different locations to qualify for playing cards. Runs are controlled events that promote responsible boating by boat enthusiasts. This is NOT a race. Participants travel at their own speed. There is no benefit to being "first" to any of the card stops. A Poker Run is a fun filled event enjoyed by participants and spectators alike.
Locations will officially open at 11:00 am and shall remain open until 1:00 pm. All participants are invited to the Heritage Party Dock from 2pm until 4pm where each player will receive one card for every location visited on the run. The best 5 card poker hand will be made from their cards.

Any references to the "Poker Run" shall mean “Lake Nacimiento ” Poker Run, starting at 10:00 am(PST) and ending at 5:00 pm (PST), June 1, 2024.
Personal flotation devices, a/k/a life jackets are mandatory for everyone on board a participating vessel.
Captains are prohibited from consuming alcohol during the Poker Run. Additionally, it is recommended that no alcohol be consumed in, on, or around the participating vessels during the Poker Run.
Each participating vessel should maintain a safety zone of at least a two hundred (200) hundred feet radius when the participating vessel is not in idle speed.
When the participating vessel is not in idle speed, pick a lane (or bearing) and remain in said lane (or on such bearing). When changing course, first confirm ability to do so, and then act accordingly. Your participating vessel must not “cut off” other boats, whether participating in The Poker Run or not, or be the cause of emergency reaction on the part of other boats.
The areas around each participating stop shall be considered NO WAKE ZONES. All participating vessels shall keep their wake to a minimum and operate at idle speed when operating near a participating stop. All other official NO WAKE ZONES are clearly labeled and must be adhered to.
The Poker Run is NOT a race. At no time during the Poker Run should racing occur between/among participating vessels.
Each vessel must carry either a functional cellular telephone or a VHF radio in working condition.
All participating vessels must obey all federal, state, and local laws, e.g., possessing the required safety equipment on the vessel. It is the responsibility of the participating vessel’s driver to familiarize themselves and the occupants of the participating vessels of these laws. In the event law enforcement tickets a participating vessel for reckless driving, said participating vessel shall be immediately disqualified and their entry fees forfeit.
All participating vessels will be required to have a current boat insurance card, boat registration, valid mussel screening permit and Monterey County boating permit. Boat insurance card and boat registration must be submitted by 9/20/24 to jkimble@gmail.com. a valid mussel screening permit must be submitted the day of the event during registration.
The driver of each participating vessel is responsible for all occupants and their actions. Participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
Each participant must have in force valid and sufficient liability insurance for the participating vessel, passengers, and crew. Drivers are to determine at their own discretion if their own vessel is seaworthy for current conditions and potential conditions that arise during the Poker Run.
No occupant of a participating vessel may sit and/or lie on top of a sundeck or sun pad while the boat is in motion.
No occupant of a participation vessel may wake surf, wakeboard, kiteboard, waterski, snorkel, dive or swim.
It is the responsibility of each Captain to read and understand these rules prior to participating in the Poker Run. Except as provided above, any violation of the above rules and regulations may result in the immediate disqualification of the entire participating vessel or the forfeiture of poker hands for the violating party(ies). Disqualification or forfeiture decision will be made by the Event Director. The Event Director may also consult with local law enforcement in reaching a conclusion. In the event of forfeiture of poker hands or disqualification of the participating vessel, no refunds will be given, all card hands aboard the participating vessel will be forfeited (in the event of a disqualification).

Lake Nacimiento Poker Run
WAIVER OF LIABILITY AND INDEMNITY AGREEMENT
IN CONSIDERATION for being permitted to participate in the Lake Nacimiento Poker
Run, sponsored by Heritage Ranch Owners Association.
THE UNDERSIGNED PARTICIPANTS:
1. HEREBY RELEASE, WAIVE, DISCHARGE AND COVENANT NOT TO SUE
Heritage Ranch Owners Association, Lake Nacimiento Resort, and County of Monterey,
its officers and members, along with any other sponsors and all of its holdings,and
owners and lessees of premises used to conduct the event and each of them, their
officers and employees, the dealers, officers, directors, management, officials and
volunteers assisting in the event, the sanctioning organization or any subdivision
thereof, grounds operators, grounds owner, officials, promoters, sponsors, advertisers
all for the purpose herein referred to as “releases,” from all liability to the undersigned,
their personal representatives, assigns, heirs, and next of kin for any and all loss or
damage, and any claim or demands therefore on account of injury to the person or
property or resulting in death of the undersigned, whether caused by the negligence of
the releases or otherwise while the undersigned is participating in the event;
2. HEREBY AGREE TO DEFEND, INDEMNIFY AND SAVE AND HOLD HARMLESS
the releases from any claim for or relating to loss, liability, damage, or cost (including
attorney’s fees) they may incur due to the presence of the undersigned participating in
the event and whether caused by the negligence of the releases or otherwise.
3. THE UNDERSIGNED PARTICIPANTS agree that while participating in this event, the
use of alcohol or any substance that affects the ability to operate or control his or her
vehicle or may be considered as hazardous to the health and safety of participants and
spectators is strictly forbidden.
4. THE UNDERSIGNED AGREES that he or she will not use or operate any vehicle in
violation or contravention of any City, County, State or Federal laws, statures,
ordinances or regulation and shall be personally liable for all fines and penalties for
traffic law violations.
5. HEREBY ASSUMES FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR AND RISK OF BODILY INJURY,
DEATH OR PROPERTY DAMAGE OR ANY OTHER DAMAGE that may result from
participation in the event, whether due to the negligence of releasees or otherwise.
EACH OF THE UNDERSIGNED expressly acknowledges and agrees that the foregoing
agreement to defend, release, waiver, and indemnity agreement is intended to be as
broad and inclusive as is permitted by California law and that if any portion thereof is
held invalid, it is agreed that the balance shall, notwithstanding, continue in full legal
force and effect.
THE UNDERSIGNED HAS READ AND VOLUNTARILY SIGNS THE RELEASE AND
WAIVER OF LIABILITY AND INDEMNITY AGREEMENT, has had the opportunity to
consult with independent counsel, and further agrees that no oral representations,
statements or inducements apart from the foregoing written agreement have been
made.
I understand and accept that in the course of my attendance at and participation in the
Event, Film or Photographs may be taken, or illustration may be made of me and/or my
personal property (including my vehicle). I acknowledge and agree that such
film/photographs and/or illustrations may be used in any medium by Heritage Ranch
Owners Association, Lake Nacimiento Resort, and all its related entities and agencies
for advertising and promotional purposes in any medium, without compensation to me.
Any dispute that may arise out of this agreement is subject to exclusive venue in
Monterey County, California, and shall be construed according to the laws thereof.
